Western Flair

 The hubs loved this outfit, but I couldn't shake the slight cowgirl vibe it gave. No don't get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with some good old Western twang to your wardrobe every now and than. I was just overexposed to it as a child, and it brings back some not always pleasant memories. Anyway, I surprisingly like this outfit. 

I'm drawing on zero inspiration for fall outfits. I just don't have a lot of time with my new schedule to scour style blogs anymore. Am I all alone in my lack of panache for fall styling? I also, have a lack of fall/winter clothing. I think it is time for a thrifting trip again.

Outfit of Many Colors

What do you get when you mix pale pink, pale blue, pale purple, and pale yellow? Last Friday's outfit of the day. I liked how all of the colors blended together to end the summer. Well maybe? In the sunshine it is acceptable to wear shorts, but step into the shade and you get goosebumps immediately.  Dressing for the transition is proving difficult. At least the short sleeve jacket can be pulled tight to provide some shielding from the wind. How are you ladies handling the fickle weather? I think my shorts have seen the last wear with bare legs. You never know what to expect in the Midwest.

I Can Feel It...Can You

Football season, soups for dinner, and cooler temperatures mean fall is here. I have been experiencing those things, so here is my first official fall transition outfit. This one doesn't count, I don't know what I was thinking wearing a scarf and jeans on one of the hottest days of the month. I liked the darker colors, and mustard yellow flats. I think I will get a lot more use out of the shirt and shoes this fall.

Speaking of soups for dinner. I'm looking for suggestions of easy soups to try out. We had tomato tortellini soup tonight, and it was really simple and delicious. With our busy schedule quick, easy, and re-heatable are top priority with our meals.

This Much Closer

It is September 1st, and that means we are thisclose to the official start of fall weather. I know some people are already experiences cooler temps, and I have a handful of readers in the New Zealand area anxiously awaiting spring instead. As for me, I'm enjoying everything one day at a time. I plan to exhaust the heck out of my summer wardrobe before I begin transitioning it to fall in order to try and not bore you too much. Except, as I've said before in answer to questions on other blogs and more specifically in this post. I will continue to try and be as realistic as possible on this blog, so in truth I have/will wear repeat outfits. However, I will try to stretch myself by wearing them differently if it is a repeat. The basic idea of an outfit can be the same with a different outcome each time.

Speaking of re-wearing pieces. This skirt was last seen here. I like how it seems to flow nicer as a skirt. One thing I'm not liking is the top doesn't lay very flat folded down, so a belt is a must. Does anybody else have the same belt buying problem as me? I have the hardest time finding belts small enough to wear around my waist. They fit just fine as actual belts, but if it is purely decorational I have to find one with elastic in it most of the time. That would be why you see the same two or three belts over and over.
