I just got these wonderful polka dot tight from We Love Colors. As I dream up ways to style them I thought it would be fun to take a look at how members of

Style Nation have styled their patterned tights.

Jenni from Pixie in Pumps submitted a great shot of her wearing heart patterned tights. I love them to pieces, apparently, she did too as they bit the dust during her photo shoot.

I saw the romance in a pair of lace pattern tights over at Haute Pink Pretty. Love her skirt too.

Over at Ashley Getting Dressed, Ashley put a pair of white patterned tights into a romantic look. She looks elegant and relaxed all at the same time.

Every Man, Woman, and Child: Birthday Party and Four Generations

 This weeks Every Man, Woman, and Child is a little different. It is my 30 for 30 outfit, and my Grandma's Birthday party all rolled into one. I took a lot of pictures at the party testing out a few different settings on my camera too.

Every Man, Woman, and Child: Capes/Ponchos

A few weeks ago I stumbled onto a post where the blogger was rockin' a poncho. It was a worn in a way that I could see myself wearing it. You see I hear the word poncho, and I think of a shapeless outer garment that flatters no one. Then we get to capes, and pictures of Superman pop into my head. Here are some of the fab bloggers that have worn ponchos and capes in a way that anybody could wear.

Erica Louise from Recycled Fashion joined in this weeks EMWandC even in the middle of the hot summer months in Melbourne.

Yvonne became her cities own caped crusader. I love how she paired it with that awesome skirt.

Tiffany of  A Reason to be Fabulous brought out a multi colored poncho that really showed off her red hair and boots.

Sarah of Wearing It On My Sleeves reminds me of a sweet Little Red Riding Hood, except, she has a much better cape.

Every Man, Woman, and Child: Colored Tights

This week on NGF I'm featuring bloggers again. I wanted to show you guys how colored tights can really make the best out of an outfit. Basic black dress is classic, but add statement making tights and you've got a show stopper on your hands. Ok, now lets take a peak at some wonderful ladies and their colored tights!

Lets start with Tiffany of A Reason to be Fabulous. She choose to take a gray/black combo and amped it up with pink tights layered with black patterned fishnets. They look extra awesome paired with her platform Mary Janes.

Sydney of The Daybook takes a yellow skirt (that btw I'm jealous of), and paired it with a beautiful shade of purple tights. What makes this look even better is that her lipstick matches her tights, and she pulls it off with such sass.

Teri of RAGS against the MACHINE shows us that you age doesn't matter when it comes to rocking colored tights.

At Scrap and Run Colleen matches her tights to her skirt, and comes away with a fantastic look! Remember, you don't always have to choose contrasting tights. Sometimes matching tights really are the best choice.

Suze at Miss Vinyl Ahoy rocked green tights with her shorts, and really extended the line of her legs. Plus they are We Love Colors tights, so she was as warm as can be even in the winter.

Every Man, Woman, and Child: They work hard for their money

Today, I'm highlighting hard working women and their wardrobes that work just as hard. My first stop is Angeline and her very helpful blog for young professionals. I find The New Professional to be very inspiring even though I don't work in an office setting.

She gets a little bit rock and roll for a casual Friday. Yes, my dear readers, you can rock a t-shirt and jeans at the office as long as you do it up right.

She has proportions down to a mad science. Fitted tops and wide leg trousers look stunning together with cute layering.

Than she switches it up by combining voluminous layers top and bottom. Like I said this girl has major office worthy style.

Next up is Hope, the writer of Hope and the Dress Code. She is a high school counselor, and has to deal with a strict dress code. No matter what the restrictions may be she faces them with style.

This the first post I stumbled upon on her blog. Her new favorite skirt equals a new subscription on my reader. I love the polka dots and the bright colored shirt.

If you have worn an animal print skirt on your blog in the last few months. I probably commented something similar to this. "I love your skirt, I have seen animal skirts all over the blog world. I've been trying to find one for the last couple months, but haven't found one in my price range."

Every Man, Woman, and Child: Party Attire

Veshoevius from Taxonomy of My Wardrobe dazzled her friends, and inspired future fashionistas with sequined trousers. Who says you have to wear sequins in the form of shirts, skirts, and dresses only? You stay warm, yet still sparkle. She also paired the spotlight stealing pants with a simple tuxedo jacket. 

I love the bold, adventurous fashion sense so many UK fashion bloggers posses.

Elaine, from Clothed Much, looked as cute as can be while dancing the end of the year away. I love how she looks ladylike and festive all at the same time. Her blouse almost shines. Also, tell me who doesn't love a skirt covered in tulle?

 Collette, of Statements in Fashion, brought in the New Year looking as hot as her tights are red. I love how she paired the black and white dress (that alone is very attention grabbing) with red tights and scarf. She kept it her footwear simple with classic black pumps.

Every Man, Woman, and Child: My Family

On this week's edition of Every Man, Woman, and Child I want to showcase my sweet, little family. We took some family pictures to give to Grandparents and Great Grandparents. I thought I would share them with you. Tell me what you think.

 We went with multi colored striped shirts to tie the look together without being too matchy matchy.

After the first handful of shots Nate decided to change into a lighter shirt. And they say women are fickle when it comes to what to wear. I love the man anyway.

 

 We had to bring out the ball to get Lyla to be happy for at least a few pictures.

 We set the timer and counted down to just the right second when we could throw the ball, get a big smile from the Bean, and keep the ball out of the frame. Shhh...it's my mommy secret.

This would be my favorite shot, but the husband never smiles. However, Lyla's cute, little feet make up for that in my opinion. Which is your favorite shot?

Every Man, Woman, and Child: Pattern Mixing

Back here I mentioned a new feature I will be running. Every Man, Woman, and Child will feature for today's fashions on my friends, family, and you.

Everybody is doing it now. Well, you can't count me in that list too. I'm now an official pattern mixer. Guys have been doing it for a while mixing patterned shirts and ties. Ladies jumped on the bandwagon too, and most do it with great panache. On the other hand, a few hot messes have rolled with this trend too. That isn't a style bashing post, so I'll just get started with the how to.

Start out by mixing patterns with the same colors. For instance, if you choose a shirt with dominant color of purple like Fia did you can pair it with a skirt that has purple in the pattern. That provides a great link between pieces. Keeping both patterned pieces floral gives a nice touch.

My pattern mixing venture combined patterns of neutral colors that allowed me to mix to entirely different patterns safely. Hey, you've got to take baby steps right?

In the print mixing world animal prints have become a neutral. Check out Tiffany at My Fashion Epiphany. She rocked a leopard print cardigan with a cute floral pencil skirt. Did I mention she is just gorgeous too?

What I Wore Today has a look that features two equally bold prints. I think that works for most people. You just have to have the confidence and sass to pull it off.
